Qualifications / Curriculum Vitae
Since 1968 I have been involved in gymnastics as a student, varsity athlete, class instructor, Assistant University Team Coach, Head Coach of Private, Public, and Non-Profit gymnastics teams, Program Director for Private, non-profit and Park & Recreation Programs, and the owner of multiple gymnastics businesses for over 35 years.
For decades I have been a National Safety Instructor for USA Gymnastics (USAG), the official Olympic and National governing body for the sport of Gymnastics, and was the voice of the first online Safety Course narrating the entire course for USAG. I also served USAG as a member of the National Safety / Risk Management Review Board and the National Preschool Advisory Committee where I co-authored their standard setting "Kinder Accreditation for Teachers" (KAT) Course and workbook.
I am a USAG University National Instructor and I have presented seminars at the USAG National and Regional Congress annually since 1991. I also teach USAG Preschool and Recreational Hands On Training (HOT) courses at conferences and member clubs.
I have presented at Canada and Australia gymnastics industry congresses, the 3rd Level Consulting Signature and Brain Trust Workshops, the International Association of Child Development Programs conference, the US Association of Independent Gymnastics Clubs conferences, and the Cal Elite Summit personal development conference on business, safety, technology, class behavior management, employment practices, business culture, preschool and recreational education for all ages.
In 2006 USA Gymnastics presented me with their Business Leader of the Year Award, and in 2014 their Educational Services Award.
In 2019 The Summit Professional Development Conference awarded me their “Matterhorn Award” in recognition of distinguished creativity, imagination and vision in business.
My Fun & Fit Gymnastics Program has been licensed for use by hundreds of gymnastics organizations globally since 1991. It was first made available with training videos on DVD, and later made available with online subscription in the "Smart Moves" lesson planning platform and the "LEAP Learning" platform with instructor training certification courses.
